Experimental Snapshot 3 - Terrain & Mob Spawning Changes! ▫ Minecraft 1.18 Caves & Cliffs Update
5,725Minecraft has published Minecraft 1.18 Experimental Snapshot 3, the latest Java Edition snapshot for the Caves & Cliffs Update Part 2. Terrain is changing once again, and there are some - potentially controversial? - changes to mob spawning.
This update fixes clashes in biome temperature, allowing similar biomes to generate together and making the world feel more consistent. It also reintroduces more opportunity for diversity within biomes, adds a new Stony Peaks mountain biome, returns more traditional badlands biomes to the world, and tweaks a bunch of other things about the terrain.
Mob spawning has also been made more consistent by removing its reliance on height - so mobs no longer spawn faster at the bottom of the world. But does this change come at the cost of nuance in technical farms? Share your thoughts in the comments!
