EXPLORING A PLANE WRECK (MT GLORIOUS)
Alex and I follow the 8km or so pathway leading to the remains of a Piper Comanche that crashed into the side of the mountain in 1977. The trail is relatively straightforward but there are some confusing points that require minor navigational skills. Follow pink markers if you see them, and generally the correct pathway is more dirty/dusty, to eliminate the possibility of people disappearing into the bush land. Rock piles and arrows carved into trees assist with directing you through areas that don't have a clear pathway. It IS entirely possible to get lost, so be sure to follow a guide if you're uncertain.

The pilot who crashed the plane in 1977 was colour-blind, and appeared to be attempting to make his way home. The circumstances for such an urgent mission to navigate home in rough conditions will still be unknown to this day.
