The Research Information Centre (RIC) is a Microsoft Research sponsored project which facilitates research management by universities and other learning institutions using Microsoft technology. RIC improves research effectiveness through a comprehensive range of features aimed at storing and sharing information, and allowing researchers to work together effectively. This tutorial aims to show RIC project site owners how to extend RIC to support new research scenarios. For a more general introduction to RIC concepts, we suggest viewing the Research Information Centre introduction screencast. This tutorial assumes no specialist IT knowledge.
