Sleep.
Sleep is something you do a lot in these games! I the party gets hurt, no problem. Just make a camp in the middle of the corridor and start sleeping and healing. After few days, pack up gear and start adventuring again! No one interrupts and the party doesn't even got too hungry in Eye Of The Beholder 1, 2 or 3. And the best thing is, that even the party sleeps few months in the corridors, the end boss and his schemes are not going anywhere. Hes waiting patiently for the adventurer party to make it's way to him. He is not going to start hes plans or anything, just wait...
Even tho priest has few healing spells, it still takes a very long time to heal the party, because Priest always has to sleep 8 hours to get back the spell he just cast.
There are some weird things like this in the game, but is still love it so much!
