FABLES LEGENDS COMING TO XBOX ONE - GAMESCOM 2013
At their Gamescom press conference, Microsoft announced that Lionhead Studios has been working on Fables Legends. Instead of the rumored MMO, it is a four-player squad based action RPG.
Players will return to Albion, 400 years before the events of the original Fables game. This time around you'll be allowed to partner up with with 3 other AI companions or play online with 3 friends. The co-op is drop-in, drop-out meaning you can have 1 friend and 2 AI bots if you want.
You can play as one of four characters, the magician who is a support class, a swordsman known as Prince Charming who is the most similar to classic Fable gameplay, an archer, or a barbarian woman, who is the tank of the group. You can switch between the heroes while playing solo at will.
You can also play as a villain if you choose. You'll be able to control an army of minions against the heroes in the game by commanding them in real-time and managing their abilities.
There will be SmartGlass integration. You can use it on your smartphone or tablet to track game progress, get more info about quests, and more. And if you decide to play as a villain you can use SmartGlass in couch co-op to play locally.
The game will run on the Unreal Engine 4 and is exclusive to Xbox One, but no release date or window was announced.
