Based off these text entries, the eighth round of the Arena might of been totally different and on top of that - the Arena itself might of included commentary based off of your performance (hit, flourish, kill decapitate).

Update: It is possible that the "burning of Ishmar" is a reference to a very old game named Druid 2, which is a game Peter, Dene and Simon worked on during their time at Bullfrog.
