Falcon And The Winter Soldier Episode 4 Ending Explained + Episode 5 Predictions
The ending of the Falcon And The Winter Soldier episode 4 saw John Walker Captain America execute a person in front of the whole world. The problem is, that person he killed is deemed a terrorist in the eyes of the law with his association being to the Flagsmashers.
In light of that fact, it’s going to be episode 5’s job to document how the world will react, how America will react, and even how Walker will react to how the U.S. government will astrip him of his mantle. And so I’m going to predict how things may play out according to what we know.
To begin, there is a scene in the trailer where Bucky tells Sam that the shield represents a lot of things to a lot of people. The context of this conversation could stem from America’s potential divide on Walker’s little outburst. You remember the crowd that saw Walker kill the flagsmasher, they all recorded what happened. You bet it found its way to trend. The way the crowd alone was reacting constitutes enough evidence to see people clearly think what he did was wrong. But, then there will be people who deem what he did as right and their rational could be that the flagsmashers are known terrorists and the only way to stop terrorists is to put them down. So, there’s going to be a divide in America when it comes to that.
How the world reacts, well I could see the world encouraging the American government to recall who should be holding the mantle of Captain America. Who knows? Maybe the world will call on Sam Wilson to hold the mantle next. Or, there was this line Bucky delivered in episode 3 on their way back from Madripoor. Bucky said that if Sam wasn’t going to pick up the shield, that he would fill those shoes. We need to prepare ourselves for the likely possibility that the world will call on Bucky to become the next Cap; this in keeping with the show’s themes of racism with America wanting a white guy to hold the mantle. I mean, that’s what the government did with Sam. It’s hard to tell if America reflects that same notion.
So, if the U.S. Government chooses to strip Walker of the mantle of Captain America, how will he react? Considering how unstable he was from Battlestar dying, imagine how unstable he will be when he is stripped of the title of Captain America. Remember, he told hoskins in the mall that this mantle is his chance to do something that feels right. So, who knows? Maybe when he killed that flagsmasher it was because it felt right. Bottom line is, Walker won’t give up the shield that easy because he doesn’t feel what he did was wrong when it is clearly wrong.
In terms of how Sam and Bucky will react, well it’s pretty clear they haven’t been on Team Walker this whole time, so we can predict a certain rebellion.
What do you think of this theory??
