A report on the deaths of UK service personnel who served in the Falklands War does not support previous claims that a greater number committed suicide than were killed in action.

Figures from the Ministry of Defence reveal that while 237 were killed in the war, 95 died as a result of self-harm - or had open verdicts recorded on their deaths - up to 31 December 2012.

The report is the first definitive breakdown of deaths among Falklands veterans and actually shows veterans were 36% less likely to die than the general population over the same period of time.
