Head north-east of where you enter the basement and picked a average locked door to find a Fat Man and Tumblers Today.

Despite what on screen text says, you may unknowingly engage an Overlord in combat. Be sure to get his attention before he finishes chatting with Shorty. If you don't distract him, he won't lost Shorty as a target.

After saving Shorty, enter the kitchen pantry and turn around to find a Nuka-Cola Quantum.

Get Red to follow you too, exit the building, and fast travel to Big Town. You might have to kill a near by mutant if you can't fast travel.
