Upon taking the 10th level charisma perk, Intimidation, you can start to truly feel like your reputation precedes you on the battlefield. Weaker enemies will practically wet themselves when looking down your doom-bringing barrel of choice. The advanced tiers (which I'll cover when I unlock them), can take your badassitude to the next level by apparently giving you the ability to force any who surrender to you to do your bidding! Your character by no means keeps a low profile. Imagine if in real life you're some raider punk, and Putin, dressed in full Spetsnaz (sp?) gear got the jump on you and told you to put your hands up. Odds are, you'd comply, and maybe he'll let you live. When a person known for their strength as a soldier and leader gives an order, folks tend to feel compelled to listen. As a renowned survivor of the wasteland, your reputation should influence the world around you. Bethesda's Intimidation perk is a very clever way to let the player exert their prowess at will, increasing immersion. Only the foolish, or genuinely tough enemies will ignore your warnings. A great thing they also did is when sneaking, issuing a surrender order alerts the enemy, but does not reveal your position to them (unless your clumsy companion is with you, but if you run stealth, you should be running solo already). This allows you to execute a sneak attack bonus if they don't comply. It seems, from my observations, gibing a non-compliant enemy seems to invoke compliance in the survivors, but that may just be coincidence. Either way, this is an awesome perk, and on survivor difficulty, it can save you ammo, and even your life (less guns aimed at you in a firefight).
