The video is a bit longer but in general you want to scout out a public workshop and see all the resoruces they have.
Luckly for me the outpost was already taken and it had the defences built so i just showed them off and made a tour of the base. This location is good because you get aluminium, junk and nuclear material, it's easy to defend and has a player stash and a workbench in the back:) It also has small quantities of everything.
WARNING: Exiting the game will delete all your workshop progress and reset it to original state(including dissconects)
