In Old town find Jake in the northern building. He has Battle Armor, Sniper Rifle and Combat Shotgun to sale. You should buy this items immediately and equip them before going to the cave. That will cost you a lot of money but it is worth. Now find Harold and talk with him. He tells you his story and story of Richard Grey. Very important character in Fallout universe. Now speak with the man standing in the entrance to Harold's house. He will lead you to Deathclaw Cave. There is only a Deathclaw and wounded mutant in the cave. Deathclaw is a hardest beast to kill you can encounter in the game. Don't let him get close to you, he will cut you to pieces. Try to shoot from distance and try to get him to the ground. Aim the eyes that deals highest damage. He has a large amount of hp so fight will take a while but after few shots in the eyes from Sniper Rifle the beast is dead. Now speak with the dying mutant and load his holotape. Mutants were attacking the caravans from Hub. Go back to Butch and tell him you have killed the deathclaw. Show Rutger the holotape and end this quest. Enter the building in the middle of Old town and find stairs down. Enter the basement and go through the door. You must reach the end of the basement picking hard locks and avoiding mines. Meet Loxley, head of the thieves guild and accept the quest to steal the necklace from the merchant. You already have this necklace so give it to him and finish the quest. Now we should take care of the small house near the entrance to old town. There is a 4 Rough Guards holding Brotherhood Initiate as a hostage. They open fire immediately after you open the door to the building. One of them has Combat Shotgun and deals lot of damage, all have much HP points. Going there before buying Sniper Rifle and Battle Armor will ends with massacre. Kill them all and free the Initiate. he will thank you and escapes but don't worry. We collect reward later. Now we have last thing to do in this town. We must get rid of Decker and this underworld business. Prepare yourself, this will be toughest fight you have encountered. Go to sheriff and tell him about Decker's plans. Sheriff organizes group to take out Decker and we must join them. Action moves to the basement where Decker resides with his guards. We have Sheriff and Deputy on our side. We must defeat Decker, Kane and 4 his bodyguards. Guards are weak and Decker too. They die after few shots. Real threat here is Kane, excelent brawler doing colossal damage unarmed even through your armor. He can punch you so hard that you can fell to the ground. Standing up consumes action points so you can be unable to use your Sniper Rifle. In first turn focus on Kane and shoot him in the eyes. He has much hp points and will chase you so use it to your advantage. After very tough battle they are all dead. Sad to say but Dogmeat didn't survived this shootout. Poor dog has been killed and we must go further without him :( Return to sheriff and take the reward now go back to the basement and collect the loot. That is all in this town we should go to Necropolis.

I was trying to complete this caravan protection quest but i was attacked by large mantis and they killed Ian in battle !
I forgot to save after finishing Decker and i don't want to try this fight for the fourth time. I decided to go further without Ian. He has no armor at all and sooner or later he dies melted by heavy plasma gun shot fired by Supermutant. Farewell Ian :(
