I've finally finished with the NES games. Kinda. There's some homebrew NES games on Steam, but those weren't in the scope of my examination. And, since I FINALLY got my replacement mouse from Razer, it was time to do another First Person Shooter. And what better one to do but the sequel to one of my more hated games?

Why do I punish myself like this?

Honestly, so far Far Cry 2 is a huge improvement over the first. Mostly. There's a lot of little things that I really like. But the combat right now is as trivial as Castlevania II's. I'm sure this will change as the game goes on, but for now I can simply walk through enemy fire and take them out Terminator style. Not a great first impression for a game that's supposed to be grounded in reality.

Another big issue I have is how the game was clearly meant for consoles, with specific save spots... but the PC version lets you save anywhere. A bit too lazy to follow up on your design, guys? Or how you can edit a key binding, but only SOME of them. And you can't bind something to "Enter", because that just brings up the keybind menu again. Such an obvious bug.
