Although I don't want to deceive people in thinking this is full on VR experience I do however want to challenge the developers of this game to make the necessary alterations to get it there. This game totally blows me away inside the HMD and im sure any VR enthusiast would be too. There are some minor issues. But they are not game breaking or "flight critical". Ubisoftware always made games with great captivating stories. For the love of their games the small trade offs doesn't compare to the immersion and fun it offers.

The performance on this game is really good. I have a i7 3820 overclocked to 4.6 and a GTX 1080ti. From all the games I've tried in HelixVision this one has to be one of the top performing ones. You have to keep in mind that every frame has to be rendered twice from a different perspective to get the stereoscopic effect. Adding up to 120 frames instead of the 60+ fps gamers nowadays settle for. This also needs to be rendered inside the HMD. So you need a good CPU and RAM. Mine is the bare minimum if you desire high settings. From my other videos you will notice the low frames at certain times.

Thanks to DarkStarSword for transforming this game and making this VR compatible. Also many thanks to the team who made and developed HelixVision. You guys chose the best of hobbies and I hope game developers would see this and hire you for their AAA titles.

The recommended way to watch this is in Virtual Desktop which you could find in steam. The best settings is to have the screen size at around 60°, about 6meters away and a curvature of about 80°. Each to his own.

The settings inside the game is also all about personal preference. There are many parameters that needs to be tweaked to your own taste. You don't want the depth to go past your IPD (distance between your pupils). And you could pull the convergence past the screen normal. Which means you can make things pop out of the screen towards you. This is a bit tricky because it has to be less than your IPD and it needs to fit in within a comfortable perspective. In the beginning of the video i did just that so you will notice less eye strain when I push the scene a bit inward. The problem with this is that the scene and your "in game body" are tied together in the separation and convergence. Which makes it a bit harder to achieve room scale. If you can live with some compromise you would really love this. Then on the other hand you can change the virtual screen size, curvature and position that Katanga offers. (thanks Bo3b for adding these adjustable parameters!) So there are at least 5 things which you need to keep in mind! For a more comfortable and immersive experience I would recommend aligning the middle of the big screen with your head. Instead of the "bezel". Also each to his own.

Please find HelixVision in steam to see all the requirements.
