Farsyte in KSP: Matching a Polar Orbit
This series tracks my Kerbal Space Program Career [save 2], with the main focus on the development of a collection of scripts for the kOS mod.
This stream showcases the "B" configuration of the "Quickly Concerned Tramp" Mission where they place a satellite in a specific (and high) polar orbit. A new launch configuration was needed to lift a slightly heavier satellite into a much higher orbit, and it made sense to launch north to be closer to the target orbit plane.
Software continues to evolve, and the big addition this time is a PAD HOLD phase which will delay the launch until we are under the target orbit, when it is highly inclined. It is still up to the per-contact code to adjust our launch azimuth as needed.
