Fatal Fury playthrough (Neo Geo, 1CC)
Playthrough with Joe Higashi. This game is known as Garou Densetsu in Japan, and was the first entry in one of the Neo Geo's most popular series. Selecting one of three characters, the aim is to defeat all opponents in Geese Howard's "King of Fighters" tournament before confronting Geese himself in a battle to the death.
This was the game that introduced some of SNK's most popular characters, such as Terry and Geese. It also features a unique control scheme, with only one button for punches and another for kicks, whilst the C button is for throws (the D button isn't used at all). When bringing the game over to America, the name wasn't the only thing changed. The joystick inputs for certain moves were also changed, I've a full list here: http://rq87.flyingomelette.com/RQ/R/N...
So, here we go with some Neo Geo playthroughs. I was lucky enough to collect Neo Geo games in the early 2010's, before they got stupid expensive on eBay. Good job too, as I wouldn't be prepared to pay the super high prices they go for now. I'm also trying something a bit different to record things with: I purchased a Kaico HDMI adapter. Hopefully you'll all agree the image quality on this is way better than what I usually use for pre-Xbox 360 games. Plus it also has an aspect ratio select. Kaico do cables for other consoles too, but it's a bit pointless for me now since I've sold off the majority of my game collection, and can't re-do older videos again. Not that I'd want too, at this point -I already re-did everything at 60fps a few years back, doing them again for a third time is overkill. Anyway, look forward to some more Neo Geo game playthroughs in the future.
There is one weird issue with the Kaico -for some reason, on this game, it won't play certain sounds effects, most notably the block attack sound and when a character crashes to the floor... but only when the opponent is on the right side of the screen. I don't know why, and it's an issue on a few other games I've got. Stranger still is that whenever the opponent gets knocked out on the right side of the screen, the ground crash sound always plays. Very strange...
