Playthrough with Terry. The Genesis version of Fatal Fury was released in 1993, and was developed by Takara. In order to get the game onto a 8 meg cartridge, a number of cuts had to be made. The main cuts are with the characters, as two fighters from the Neo Geo version are missing from the Genesis port -these characters are Hwa Jai and Billy Kane. Hwa instead makes a cameo on Duck King's stage (he's the guy laughing in the background) whilst Billy makes a cameo in Richard's stage, in the top right corner.

The bonus games are also gone, and the two player co-op mode is also absent. To make up for the missing characters in the story mode, you'll now be challenged at some point by both the characters you didn't pick -eg if you picked Terry, you'll have to fight Andy and Joe at some point.

The character speech was also re-recorded for this version, and voices sound completely different to the Neo Geo version. Some voices came out better than others, as you'll notice with Geese. EPBLUGHKEN

On the plus side this version still has the planes system (something missing from the SNES port) although only the CPU can use it. The two player vs mode also lets you pick any character, and there is a code to unlock Geese as well. This game was the best fighter for the Genesis when it was released, although it didn't hold that title for long as Street Fighter II' Special Champion Edition was released just a few months later.
