Love it or hate it, the FBX format is still one of the most important 3D model formats and the primary export file format of many 3D applications. In Godot 3.x FBX importing was easy, but unreliable. In Godot 4, the quality of the FBX importing has improved, but it's also gotten more difficult.

In this video we show how to setup Godot 4 to use FBX2GLTF to import an animated Mixamo model. We also show how you can export 3D models from the Unity engine and recreate the textures inside Godot, which is especially useful if you want to take advantage of the many Unity bundles that come along.
