FE7 All Gaiden Chapters (Hard Mode), Part 42 - Chapter 23x is OBNOXIOUS
0I decided to take on a Hard Mode All Gaiden Chapters run of FE7! This REQUIRES us to level up Nils to Level 7 in Lyn Mode. At first I started it as a Soft Ironman, but after much trial an error I opted to stop that idea, but I still allowed some units to die during my run. I actually restarted this run twice.
So our next Gaiden Chapter is 23x, and oh boy is this one fun... NOT. So they piled this down with status staves, siege tomes, and a freaking moving Magic Seal to redirect where my allies go. With Fiora dead and only one staff user, this is absolutely a PITA as I have so few good high res units to work with.
I didn't expect Genesis to be such a PITA because its supposed to be an anti-magic chapter, but somehow they negate my magic while fully allowing the enemies to pelt you with it. Then on top of that, the Magic Seal disappears a few turns in, completely ruining all your plans and you start getting slaughtered, berserked, etc.
You basically have to reunite your teams ASAP, but you also really need at least two staff users complete with Restore staves. So if you want to do this map effectively, you NEED both Priscilla AND Serra. And ideally also have Physic staves. And ideally both Falcon Knights, too.
So after like 5 tries at this chapter, I reset back to Chapter 22 to save Fiora, and then later realize that apparently that very same chapter has a secret shop with Physic in it. Well, I died twice more, first having Canas die, then having Raven get a surprise crit against the boss, so we resume our Genesis preparation in Part 43.
