FE7if is a hack for the japanese version of Blazing Sword, Rekka no Ken. Enemy difficulty is boosted, items/weapons/characters rebalanced, new music, and even new characters taking the place of some old ones.

If you wish to try out the hack, the latest version can be located here: http://www.uploadable.ch/file/ACDETeQcA9Dg

Do a search on Google for the ROM (Japanese version of course!).

A pretty exciting chapter for a couple reasons, both of which are going to be beneficial to Katt.

That being said, this map is unique in that there's two versions of it. This one being played comes up if the combined level of Lyn, Eliwood, and Hector is greater than 50, something you'll almost certainly be at by this point. This means the boss you'll be fighting is Linus, one of the Reed brothers. If you got the other version of this map, you'd fight Lloyd. Whomever you don't take out in this map will be a boss in a future chapter.

Anyways, this chapter requires you to take along Dart if you want to recruit a character. A lovely thing when there's, to the surprise of 0% of the the army, flyers aplenty. Granted the promoted dingbat Falcoknight levels are very low...but there's a couple Wyvern Lords to make up for that. The one near where your army is has two reaver weapons, making it a very dangerous enemy.

Of course, Canas says nope to that with a crit Eclipse, then an extra turn granted by Ninian so he can sit on a ballista to prevent a Sniper from hopping in it...oh, and blow up the annoying dual reaver Wyvern Lord with a second Eclipse blast.

From here, the party splits up. Most everyone is going to work eastward, but Sain, Hawkeye, Milia, and backup healer Priscilla are going to head off the enemies to the north with. Sain can block off the beach by a shop and rip up the enemies as they come to him while the others deal with a few annoying units to the west. He'll continue to do this until Legault gets there and takes over his spot.

Anyways, on turn 2, Ash's plan to bait out the Warrior to the east, Geitz, works as planned. Dart can come in and talk to him to convert the Warrior to our side.

Considering Bartre & Dorcas are basically all I need for my Warrior ways right now, Geitz is sadly useless for me. Granted, his bases are quite good and his growths are likewise good. Those, coupled with his low starting level, give him plenty of potential if given proper leveling treatment.

Basically, once the rest of the team reaches the house in the southeast, they're going to park there for the majority of the map to handle the reinforcements which will be a mix of Wyvern Knights & Pirates.

As for that house in the southeast? It contains an Earth Seal, good for promoting a unit at lv10 or higher with the exception of your lords.

Yes, Katt is included in the group that can use it. She's been waiting for this chance for some time, thus she uses it and becomes her unique shamanized form seen in Breath of Fire 2. No kicking things like mad, but her staff whacking powers see a boost with her stat gains (+4 hp, +4 skl, +4 def, +5 res, +1 con, +1 mov). She also gets the ability to walk across water or mountain peaks. Pretty useful!

Anyways, while this was all happening, Meredia was visiting the two houses in the northwest. One gives out a promotion item I don't need for anyone (free 2500 gold!), the other gives a new weapon that Katt can use. It has some crappy stats like 1 Mt, 60 Hit, and 11 Wt...for good reason though.

Its positives? It has 30 crit, infinite uses, and carries the brave effect. If Katt can get lots of strength & skill, she can be deadly as hell with this weapon.

More next time!
