Fed Hikes By 75bps, Global Cues Signal Positive Start For Indian Indices | ET Now | Latest News VIDEO
The US Fed hiked rates by 75 basis points calling it exceptional circumstances. With the highest rate hike since 1994, the Fed also suggested that another 50-75 basis point hike cannot be ruled out next month. Despite this, US indices gained in trade yesterday suggesting that the hike was largely built-in. US GDP expectations were downward revised due to which oil prices have seen a slight relief. Asian indices have largely opened in the green with both the Nikkei and Kospi up around 1% after giving up some strong gains made earlier in the day.
