One of the many things that floors me about this game is that you can tell a noticeable dip in quality for character animations from beginning of the game to the mid-end.
Look at character faces during the clips. Most of the time they feel like they've been paralyzed compared to the voicing they've been given. Mouth movements feel off, all the facial movements around the eyes basically stop. Character movements are limited to arms or just idle standing animations.
Unfortunately, as the game goes on, MOST of your interactions just turn into the third example, and this is what ALL of your side mission dialogue looks like. It's painful to watch the voice actors actually trying and seeing none of that come through visually.
Honestly, it felt like the writing and animation teams got fired midway through the project and they had the interns take over.
Remember to dislike the video on your way through if you think FF16 is the best game of all time.
