Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has tons of Quests, but they suffer from too much padding and filler. It uses quest after quest to inflate the hours. Cloud and Aerith's story's momentum is ruined because there's so many sidequests. You'll find characters to appease in quests that have 4 to 8 steps, and ridiculous amounts of items to fill your inventory. Small tasks take WAY too long to complete.

Ironically, there isn't ENOUGH PADDING on the game's most used and pathetic tool, the CUSHION, which Cloud uses 100s of times, despite it looking like a squashed pancake. Hours are used up pulling up mushrooms from the ground, or finding pictures of cactuars in Costa De Sol. They provide no character development and just pad the runtime constantly. There's also original Final Fantasy 7 moments, like turning a valve, that are expanded 10 times their runtime, creating more filler debacles! Completionists have a long journey ahead of them when it comes to bonus content.

Even entire dungeons, like the Temple of the Ancients, pad the hours through tasks like Aerith's praying tediously and many lame, repetitive puzzles! The dungeon also has a 'trial' segment that adds on even more to your game clock.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is well regarded, and there are quests that genuinely make a big impact, like the tragic flashback of young Aerith back to Iflana, and some of the character driven quests do give insights into characters that the basic plot never does, like how Seto and the Gi actually interacted, and Barret's stance on parenting, so it's not universally filler content.

However, there's definitely more diversions that seem to want to push FF7 Rebirth into the "100 plus hours" tier, instead of genuinely needed or interesting side quests that give fans something different. Good and bad, it's all here for you to check out @gamingintrospection ! It's good to see ya, Gamers!
