Final Time: 02:24:12

- Time right before Bizarro-Sephiroth, last time the menu clock is visible: 02:18:14
- 00:05:58 from exiting the menu for the last time until the damage of the finishing strike on Sephiroth is shown
- 02:18:14 + 00:05:58 = 02:24:12

A lot of damage and visual special effects to end this.

Jenova-Synthesis is by far the easiest of the three final bosses. All I had to hope for was her attacking Cloud and missing and not being able to act for the rest of the battle. I cast Haste on Cloud because this is more helpful than a Hero Drink and it actually makes using a Hero Drink superfluous (I could have given Cloud a Hero Drink in addition to using Haste on him, however, this would have been slower than not using the Hero Drink as the additional damage is not worth accepting the rather long Hero Drink animation).

Bizarro-Sephiroth is by far the most annoying and arguably the hardest final boss. Even though I rely on the 1.5 damage multiplier of the Berserk status granted by the Fury Ring, I was seriously considering removing the Fury Ring because it makes Cloud's targets random, which, in a battle with 5 targets, is terribly aggravating, if some of those targets must and others must not be chosen. In fact, Bizarro-Sephiroth's head must not be hit as killing it will force one to wait 12 seconds for a perfectly pointless status message. Obviously, there is a hypothetical optimal targeting order, namely just attacking the torso incessantly. Unfortunately, this is extremely improbable to occur (1/5^6). At the same time, there are several other targeting orders, which allow one to finish this battle almost as quickly as under optimal circumstances. So, with the outcome I got, I lost less than 10 seconds compared to the perfect Bizarro-Sephiroth target constellation.

Finally, Safer-Sephiroth remains and he is almost as frustratingly luck-based as Bizarro-Sephiroth. First of all, I am able to defeat Safer-Sephiroth before he uses his physical wing attack only if Cloud gets a first turn. As that attack targets the character with the highest current HP, Cloud in my case, as it is one of the strongest attack in the entire game and as it has a particularly high accuracy, seeing this attack almost certainly entails a Game Over. Still, in order to utilize the Wait trick to the fullest, I need three characters throughout the entirety of the battle. This means that Safer-Sephiroth's Shadow Flare must be used on Cloud, who in turn must dodge it, which will happen with a probability of 1/5.

Thanks to everybody who has watched my speedrun. I hope you enjoyed it.

I am going to continue to run this on the Japanese PC version in an RTA on Twitch (http://www.twitch.tv/xerokynos) until I feel comfortable with my time, so this is not the end. ;]
