FFmpeg ·· from left- or right-only stereo to mono
Hi!
This is an easy fix if your audio or video source has a stereo track but with the actual audio playing left- or right-only, leaving the other channel silent.
The simple fix is to encode the audio to a mono track so that you can hear the track on both channels.
command:
ffmpeg -i "input" -c:v copy -ac 1 "output"
remember to copy the video if you don't need to re-ecnode it, so that the process become faster.
Alternatively you can unplug a bit your audio jack so that the last pin touches both output's channels.
Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoyed :)
Recorded with:
SimpleScreenRecorder (if you don't hear my voice)
OBS Studio (if you hear my voice)
libx264 - ultrafast - crf between 18-23
sometimes I re-encode with ffmpeg at crf 18 with a fast-medium-slow preset
