Your eyes don't deceive you - I have finally defeated Adrammelech with a level 2 team!

The old Thief with Sonic Boom strategy proved to be useless here, as Adra's got an impressive defence increase if you compare him to the previous enemies. A normal hit coming from a Thief with an Orichalcum hired as a Hunter only does about 10 damage to him. The boss has over 250 HP, which means we must think of another way to deal with him.

The second trouble are the dragons. Very strong physically and possessing breath attacks of one element (fire, ice, lightning, as their colours suggest), dragons are not something you'd want to mess with. Jumping forward to kick Adra's butt with these guys around means asking for a quick full-party KO, and Angel Rings, Damage = MP and evasive setups aren't going to help.

In the end, I got Fire banned (didn't use a card, just entered the mission on the right day) and made the following team, in addition Marche:

Assassin/Item
Blue Mage/Item
2x Thief/Juggler
1 Gunner/Juggler

My strategy was to start by getting closer to the bosses with the Assassin, then smiling her so that she is able to take one dragon out. Without Concentrate, Last Breath has a 60% success chance, so I had to reset a bit to have an optimal beginning. Then goes the Blue Mage. He uses Night. Our aim is to get at least one of the dragons asleep. Sleep is mostly implemented not because we need to increase the success chance of Last Breath (well, it does help too), but to ensure that no unit dies the very first turn. Blue Mage, like anyone else, needs Damage = MP for survival, but he also needs MP to cast Night (sometimes more than once per battle). If he is hit with any attack but one that his elemental robes absorb (whichever ones are equipped), it's a good idea to reset so that he can use Night before Adra's minions get to take their turns (they are surprisingly slow).

The moogles, not unlike everyone else, have Dash Boots equipped to be able to move around the field more freely, taking one step more. Their purpose in the beginning of the battle is to smile the Assassin, who uses Last Breath, then uses an Ether on herself to restore MP. More than one Assassin is unnecessary in this battle, we just need a bit of luck with the right enemies falling asleep or Last Breath just failing to miss.

Strangely, Adra may fall asleep too (he can also be blinded, but I didn't bother).

Once the three dragons are destroyed, it's time to attack Adra. His defence is strong, so we use the same tactics we used against Flans: Gil Toss with the Moogles! It takes 9 successive Gil Tosses to kill him. When he is alone, he is not a threat anymore thanks to our Damage = MP ability!

This was pretty tough, but also the best battle in the challenge so far.

Music: Jethro Tull - "Heavy Horses" (album of the same title).
