While I was uncursing the Cursed Shield, I ran around A LOT. That should explain why Step Mine has skyrocketed in usefulness. I expect it to deal around 5k damage each time when I beat the game.

Anyway, this video shows my battle against Hidon and Ancient Castle bosses, i.e. Master Pug, KatanaSoul and Blue Dragon!

Hidon is easy. Mog with his perfect defence and True Knight, everyone else critical and with Wall Rings equipped. Dragonboots on Mog, since we want to learn the (useless) GrandTrain Lore.

Get rid of all the Hidonites but one and damage Hidon a bit. Then finish off the last one (one Step Mine is an instant KO) and have Mog jump. Everyone will die, except for the moogle. Quickly revive one of the characters and get back on track gradually. This can be done even easier since Hidon is undead (iirc), but that's no fun.

Master Pug counters every offensive action with Step Mine, which is, obviously, fatal for whoever it hits. Just revive the fallen with Mog and Sabin and finish him.

KatanaSoul can be confused and may then kill himself with his own deadly technique. That's what we do.

Blue Dragon is harder, because I haven't got Gau, who gets elemental immunities thanks to his rages (and also impressive damage potential at the same time), and his water attack kills everyone except Mog under Shell status (had a Pod Bracelet equipped) and Gogo with his Paladin Shield (it wasn't a bad idea, after all, to uncurse that shield!). When he does that disaster of an attack, the first thing to worry about is to get Mog back to full health with a Potion: as long as the moogle is alive, no physical attacks will hurt anyone. Revive the others, too. Getting Sabin back to life may not be worth it, as his Bum Rush is no longer as powerful, compared to what others have, and he will be killed very quickly anyway.
