FFTA - Level 2 Game Part VII: Magic Wood
No law manipulation.
The first battle that required serious strategy and luck. The old tactic involving the use of thieves with Hunt and Smiling Moogles was insuccessful, as I was getting owned in a couple of minutes regardless of Damage = MP and even the new addition to my defensive strategy in the form of Angel Rings.
The main difficulty of this battle is that Marche is accompanied by four units while having to face no less than seven enemies at a time. That means FOUR weak lv. 2 units should defeat 7 enemies. This is a complicated task, and I thought of a great deal of strategies before sticking to this one, and even this one isn't too reliable as the Blue Mage has no access to Concentrate yet.
Party setup:
Marche (Thief job for Evasion, defensive equipment, Angel Ring, Damage = MP)
Human Thief (hired as Hunter, Aim as the secondary job, double wielding Cinquedea and Orichalcum, Angel Ring, Damage = MP)
Blue Mage (hired as Ninja, Item secondary A-Ability, Damage = MP, Angel Ring, MUST KNOW THE "NIGHT" ENEMY SKILL)
2x Assassin (hired as a White Mage, knows Last Breath, Item, Angel Ring, Return Fire, defensive equipment including a shield)
Strategy: the Blue Mage waits out until everyone takes a turn by selecting Wait at the beginning of the battle (everyone moves closer, Assassins wait, the Thief uses Boost). Hopefully, nobody dies before the Blue Mage gets his second turn and the Blue Mage is not damaged (if he is, there will be insufficient MP to use Night). Now that the enemies are closer, and there is a good chance you'll eliminate a few of them next turn, without hesitation CAST NIGHT! I kept resetting until the desired amount of enemies fell asleep.
The Summoner is the enemy's strongest unit with the ridiculous range of the Summon magic. She was hasted and didn't fall asleep during Night, therefore seriously hurting my party.
You'll see the rest in the video, which is more action-packed than anything I've recorded in FFTA before, so I'll leave all the other subtleties for your own judgement since no further explanations are necessary.
It didn't go well with some members dying regardless of the Angel Rings and Damage = MP, but at least I won.
