While on my way to Goddess, I actually ran into this mechanical menace and promptly got destroyed by him, then I later realized that this is the same Robodemon that was mentioned at the Colosseum. After figuring out how it operates in battle, I left, then came back with an appropriate strategy. It can be encountered in several rooms in the dungeon. Not quite sure if this is just a really strong normal monster or a boss.

Robodemon has high stats overall and can be very dangerous if you don't know how to handle it. It also always attacks twice per turn. Bella with no lower than 255 defense is a must for this battle, someone who can jump, and we also need barrier piercing attacks. Robodemon's first two turns is always a combination of either a normal attack or 255 Hits. Its third turn features either Shrapnel or Cyclonic. If we get unlucky and it uses 2x Shrapnel (and no one blocks them) it's all over right here, regardless of Life 3. The fourth turn can also be potentially deadly as he may use Rainy Heaven twice; if that happens, it's game over unless someone is in the air. So therefore, Life 3 doesn't matter if Robodemon uses either 2x Shrapnel (if they hit all four party members) or 2x Rainy Heaven (since it dispels Life 3) and you're dead anyway should either of those happen.

While offense is as simple as spamming Star Bombs on it, three things have to happen in order to survive Robodemon's third and fourth turns: Life 3 needs to be up at all times, Bella must runic before turn 4, and Skye has to jump on turn 4, no matter what happens. This is in case Robodemon decides to use 2x Rainy Heaven. If that does happen, Skye must revive Bella ASAP, or she will die on Robodemon's next turn.

When killed, Robodemon will cast Ultima. Keep track of its HP when its low, and try to kill it before its fourth turn, or you can jump it. A much easier way to deal with this monster is to simply use Ratatosk to drain its MP away, but that would've been boring.

You do get EXP for killing it, but that doesn't matter since the challenge is now officially over.
