FFVI Gau Low Level Solo - Ifrit and Shiva (7/?)

I thought that breaking the Ice Rods which I stole from ghost enemies while training on the Veldt would be a below the belt tactic to exploit, so Gau was once again the character I ended up using here. We get access to Fire 2 and Ice 2 spells only after we clear this dungeon, so the best means of dealing damage was, once again, through Rage.
I decided to go for Shiva instead of Ifrit, due to her low HP, so I raged Bomb. The Wall Ring would make all spells bounce back at the boss, Blaze would heal Gau and Shiva's special attack that can't be reflected would result in a game over. Similarly, an abundance of physical attacks without any use of Blaze would mean Gau's doomed unless he ends the battle quickly.
And, as you can figure by the video's length, he didn't. Tough luck with Rage here, hardly any Blazes against Shiva and mostly physical attacks - and she does get to heal herself with her own spells.
I almost died there once, but a well-timed Blaze healed me.
Gau seems to be dominating so far, but I'll probably replace him with Terra or Mog as my main solo person once we're done with this dungeon.
