FFVII - Level 1 Hardcore Challenge, Part 47: Jenova-SYNTHESIS
58The main reason why Jenova is dangerous is not her attacks, but her speed. If you're not prepared for this, you will face a quick death. I solve this by turning the battle speed down and give Sprint Shoes to two of the guys. Vincent is the main damage dealer with magic, so he gets a Circlet instead.
The attack pattern is Slap, Absorb, Slap, Absorb, Bio2, repeat. Slap and Absorb are used by the arms, so they must be alive for these attacks to be used. The main body only uses magic, and she'll use Stop or Cure3 instead of Bio2 if one of the arms are dead. She can also revive the arms with 25% of their original HP.
Damage is dealt with various powerful magic. Master Materias are levelless and therefore not against the rules. I redid Emerald with Game Over to get them. This battle could have been quicker, but I wanted to play with different types of magic to make sure it wouldn't become repetitive. I also made a few mistakes in the battle that made it more interesting for a while.
This is the regular version of FFVII and Hardcore is only the name of the challenge. Rules:

- No HP Plus
- Level 1 Materia Only
- No Sources
- No Poison
