Ixion counters every action with a regular attack and Thundaja inflicts strong delay, therefore this was the only viable strategy.
I used Magic Counter and hoped for at least 9-10 crits, depending on damage rolls.
It isn't required to start with first strike, however, I used it so I could run away and retry if my party members failed to run away
