The Celestial Nexus is the final battlefield and conclusion of the "Rise of the Zilart" expansion. In this fight, you take on Eald'narche and a bunch of random mechanical contraptions just meant to pulverize you.

This is my fourth attempt at the fight. Fourth time's a charm, huh? I found that shadow tanking and destroying the Orbitals will greatly increase your survivability. Originally, I came /RDM and tried to super tank this, but the damage output in the second phase combined with some diabolic status effects and massive PDT from Eald'narche made me change gears a little.

My second and third attempt were foiled by both the stun effect that seems to be attached to a lot of the Exoplate's attacks and by the petrify effect of Omega Javelin. With that in mind, I decided it was best to fight for survivability over out right damage.

In the first phase, if you can put down the Orbitals as soon as they spawn, your survivability goes up exponentially. Without the Orbitals, Eald'narche has no way of actually stripping your shadows effectively. All of the attacks from both Eald'narche and the Exoplates are either Ancient Magic spells or TP attacks, thus giving you plenty of time to buff and rebuff your shadows as they are consumed. Keep Haste up and bash the Orbitals in quickly and you'll be golden.

At 66%, 33%, and 1% life, the Exoplates uses an attack known as "Phase Shift", which can be absorbed with two shadows. If it hits, there is a chance of it stunning you. I found that getting debilitated in this fight in ANY WAY tends to lead to you being on the defensive and quickly trying to make up for lost ground and HP, wasting your opportunities to swing in order to recover. Try to avoid getting stunned when you can!

Once the Exoplates are destroyed, Eald'narch enters a "Manafont" type mode and begins to spam back to back Ancient Magics and a few random enfeeble based -gas. He has very little life at this point in time, but I still recommend destroying the Orbitals so your shadows have a chance to absorb the AMs coming your way.

Once you defeat Eald'narche the first time, a cutscene ensues and then you will have 20 to 30 seconds to prepare for the next phase. At this point in time, I would recommend getting Haste, Barpetra, and Barstonra up at least. Aquaveil will be useful as well and get shadows up before he can attack.

Once enough time elapses, Eald'narche will teleport onto you and begin to attack. Slow and Paralyze do stick and will help out with your survivability immensely, as Eald'narche does attack extremely quickly in this phase. At this point in time, Eald'narche has a pretty disgustingly high PDT value, reducing your attacks to pitiful two digit numbers. Just slug it out and stay on the defensive. You want to rush damage, but you also want to outlast Eald'narch as well.

The one TP move to look out for is Omega Javelin. This attack is a low damage physical attack that has a chance to petrify you for a seriously ridiculously long time. If he manages to hit you and stick the petrify effect when you are at 50% health, consider yourself toast. This is why Barpetra and Barstonra are both highly recommended, to help reduce the chance of petrify sticking.

Finally, in this mode, Eald'narch has an extremely potent fast cast trait. Ancient magics come out quickly and hit very hard, even with fully merited Shellra V and a solid MDT set. This is why you see me saving my Utsusemi: Ni casts to specifically block his ancient magics.

Overall, this fight was harder then I originally anticipated, but was very satisfying when I finally got a working strategy for it.

Since this is the 20th video posted for my WHM solo adventures, I would like to say that I absolutely love doing these. It keeps the game exciting and fresh for me. It's great to see what I can and cannot do, and I hope you all enjoy watching a WHM kick some serious butt!

Enjoy!

Beastmaster extraordinaire, this Tarutaru kicks ass and takes videos and names while doing so. His music selection is superb as well!
