In this 60 second guide, I look at the Market Tax Rates. In Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn there is a 5% tax when selling items on the market board. However, 1 city-state will be selected at any one moment to have a reduction in the tax rate to 3%. You can find out which town that is by talking to the Market Vocate located next to the market area of each city. By selecting the option View Tax Rate, you can then find out which city has the reduced rate, and how long it will last for in Earth time. By finding out which town is the cheapest, you are then advised to sell items at your retainer in that city to enjoy the 3% tax rate rather than 5%.
