Fight Night Canvas Puzzle (How to Solve)

A venue uses the same canvas mat for their boxing matches and their octagon cage fights, which are held on alternate weekends – how are they able to use the same mat to floor each arena?

Basically, this puzzle can be summed up as:
Cut an octagon into 5 pieces and rearrange them to form a square; or
Cut a square into 5 pieces and rearrange them to form an octagon

This is another variation of the Haberdasher’s Problem Puzzle, which I’ve covered in earlier videos.
