Fighting Fantasy: The Citadel of Chaos - PC - First Attempt (Blind)
0A first attempt at completing the Tin Man Games port of Citadel of Chaos. This adventure gamebook was originally released on paperback in 1983. I did complete it as a kid but I'd forgotten everything.
It's the second book in the Fighting Fantasy series. You play a sword wielding mage, on a quest to infiltrate the citadel and defeat the demi-sorcerer, Balthus Dire.
I'll be playing the same way I did as a kid, which is to reach a conclusion, then re-roll and start from the beginning if I lose. I'll be showing all my attempts and each subsequent playthrough will be slightly different, though due to the nature of gamebooks, there will be sections that repeat. I'll skim over passages more and more as I go through parts I've read multiple times, so pause if I'm going too fast. This one shouldn't need pausing as it's my first time playing. Note: I won't be providing narration or commentary.
Gameplay is standard Fighting Fantasy rules, with the addition of spells and magic. The rules are explained at the start of the game.
You can make bookmarks and use them as save points, I won't be doing that and will start every adventure afresh, but you might see me create a bookmark occasionally, because I had problems with this game freezing and locking up my system. Every playthrough will be on the max difficulty setting, Hardcore Hero mode.
