This segment was taken from the tail end of a FF16 combat discussion livestream highlights video - but was one of the most important parts of the discussion for me personally.
Unlike Final Fantasy 7 Remake part 2, which has the burden of adopting the safer approach to its development due to its historically commercial success within the franchise, Final Fantasy 16, as the newest mainline entry in the series, is in a position to potentially be the boldest risk-taking Final Fantasy ever - and with Yoshida and Takai at the helm, a risk-taking endeavor that can pay off in spades.
Not only are the game's positioned differently within the series, they are also being helmed by two very different Final Fantasy producers, Yoshinori Kitase and Naoki Yoshida, whose different development histories within Square-Enix will yield a very different gaming experience in their respective Final Fantasies.
