Final Fantasy 7 - Walkthrough - Part 12 - Mount Corel, North Corel, Limit Break Levelling
00:00 - Equip your preferred party members, heal up and start heading south on the map. You will see a ridge in the mountainside to the left, and what looks like a winding path, follow this until you get to a cave in the mountain.
02:00 - Head in and make your way through Mount Corel. Speak with the man here and then follow the path, then onto the screen with the reactor until you get to the train tracks. Continue right until you get to a save point. Save the game here in case something goes wrong with the next section!
03:20 - Keep heading right and then across the upper track. The track will break beneath Cloud's feet and allow you to grab an item on the way back up, so let him fall instead of pushing the button to jump. For this one, while Cloud is falling, hold the left directional button and tap the corresponding button on the screen as fast as you can. You should see Cloud move towards the left and when he lands at the bottom, climb up to grab the Wizard Staff.
03:49 - Keep heading right and pick up the W Machine Gun from the chest. Backtrack and this time take the lower tracks. The track will break again but this time you can jump over as there isn't an item to collect in the middle section. Make your way to the upper left and pick up the Turbo Ether. Keep heading left and the tracks will break again.
04:20 - Don't jump this time, instead let Cloud fall, hold the right directional button and tap the corresponding button on the screen as fast as you can. Once again, you should see Cloud move towards the right this time and when he lands at the bottom, climb up to grab the Star Pendant.
04:45 - Pick up the Transform Materia and head back right. Take the upper tracks first, and follow the path until you get to the small cabin and head inside. Choose to flip the switch in the cabin when prompted to lower the bridge. You can climb the wall to the left of the cabin to reach a Cockatolis nest. You can choose to take the treasure of 10 Phoenix Downs or not. If you do take the treasure, you will have to fight, if you choose to leave it, you win the moral victory.
06:05 - Backtrack to the previous screen and this time take the lower path. Cross the now-lowered bridge and follow the path until you can head to the left to find a hidden cave under the tracks. Pick up the Tent, Mind Source and Power Source then head out and to the right.
08:45 - As you continue over the bridge, you will encounter the Bomb enemy. You can steal an item called a Right Arm from them. This is an attack item when used in battle can cause about 1500 damage to all enemies. Continue over the bridge to get to North Corel.
12:30 - You will look into Barret's backstory while talking to the people around the town. Stop by the shops if you need to stock up on anything, make sure you buy the Force Stealer for Cloud at the weapon store if like me you went with the HP Plus Materia at Junon.
13:25 - Head to the house at the very north of the time to find the Inn, where you can rest for 50 Gil. When you're ready to progress the story head to the next screen to the left.
14:50 - For the rest of the video we are going to be doing some Limit Break training as this is the perfect area early on in the game to complete this. I know level grinding isn't for everyone so you can skip to the next video if you want to continue the game. Backtrack all the way to the screen where we lowered the bridge.
15:30 - There is an enemy called a Search Crown which will appear in groups of 5 making it really easy to get your characters an immediate 5 kills to help on the way to unlock their Level 2 Limit Breaks.
You will probably have unlocked the second Limit Break in your characters Level 1 Limits, you get this by using the first Limit Break a certain number of times. For Cloud, use Braver 8 times, Barret - Big Shot 9 times, Tifa - Beat Rush 9 times, Aeris - Healing Wind 8 times, Red XIII - Sled Fang 8 times and Yuffie - Greased Lightning 8 times. If you still need to get any of these, give the party member the Hyper item (Fury Status) and equip them with Cover materia. Any time an enemy attacks them the Limit bar will go up faster now.
Now on to Level 2. To unlock Blade Beam, Cloud will have to kill 120 enemies, this means he has to land the final blow. For Grenade Bomb for Barret = 80 kills, Waterkick for Tifa = 96 kills, Breath of the Earth for Aeris = 80 kills, Blood Fang for Red XIII - 72 kills and Landscaper for Yuffie = 64 kills.
The tactic here is to give the character you are looking to get the Limit Break for the Enemy Skill Materia, if you have been following this guide you should have the Matra Magic Skill, if you cast this on the 5 Search Crown enemies if will kill them all in 1 hit, getting your party member 5 kills towards their Limit Break total.
You can use the save point a few screens to the left to use the PHS to change your party members, heal and save when you need to. Happy Limit Break levelling!!
