A walkthrough for the Whirlwind Maze in the original Final Fantasy 7.

Note the third barrier / lightning barrier / green wind is known to glitch out in later ports of the game. In my experience, this was solved by walking back to the previous screen then making sure the 3x speed was disabled before returning.

Other reports claim you might have to close the game and load up your save file again for it to be fixed - try going back and forth first, then see if the latter then works for you.
