https://www.patreon.com/ulillillia --- Fastitocalon-F is one of my favorite enemies in FF8. When defeated while in the ground, it's funny watching just that lone odd fin flying up above when there's nothing below it when there should be once it comes out of the ground. Weak to thunder, I have 100 thundagas junctioned to my elemental attack. (Normally, I pretty much never junction anything to elemental attack.)

But for about 16 total hours (this being about 7 hours in), I've been leveling up on these fishy monsters... going all the way to level 100 while constantly swapping junctions to get both Squall and Quistis their bonus on strength. Strength has been going up 2 points each level almost consistently... until about level 85 where it seemed to suddenly start averaging about 1.7.

I try to keep both Squall and Quistis about 300 to 700 experience apart from each other so they can't possibly level up simultanously. When their difference is spread out outside of this range, I take manual control and get it so that the one who needs to catch up defeats the enemies as the one that does gets the extra experience. I demonstrate that toward the later part of this video.

When I get the "over 100 was discarded", I immediately focus on getting to the town of Balamb so that I can sell the countless fish fins I'm getting. While it's not the best way to get gil in FF8 (there's a method I know of that can get me about 1.5 million gil per minute, which is several hundred times faster than SeeD payments at best, even if you could just keep S rank while running around a town), it will help some early game mainly because the hyper fast method is unavailable until most of the way through disk 3.
