Final Fantasy 9 (PlayStation) - A Place to Call Home (Famicom 163 Cover)
It appears I've been touched once again by Uematsu's genius.
I went on a major @videogamedunkey binge recently, and a few of Dunkey's videos introduced me to another instant-favorite song: A Place to Call Home (also known as The Place I'll Return to Someday), the title theme of Final Fantasy 9 for the PlayStation. This song is nothing short of beautiful, and it made me make another one of my out-of-the-blue covers, once again utilizing Namco's 163 sound expansion for the Famicom (in fact, I didn't even use the base 2A03 for this one ;D). Now, this was one of my harder covers, because the official sheet music I found was missing a lot of the notes (though none of the notes that were there were incorrect as far as I could tell), so I had to kinda figure out the missing pieces of the harmony. Not to mention, I had to figure out how to get the volume control just right so the notes wouldn't sound jaded or something like that. It's not 100% perfect, but I can gladly say this still turned out great, and I hope you enjoy it (fun fact: the wavetable I ended up using for this cover was one of the wavetables from the original Pac-Man, though obviously the way I use it here is much different lol). ^w^
UPDATE 06-28-2022: I've been meaning to do this for a year, but I've finally set up a system for sharing downloads for my chiptune project files! Here are the downloads for this song: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CGSFwPeiGirTDiq8qV9zNYL_kYs-Acwl?usp=sharing
