Strategy:
Equipping fire and lightning resistance from Flame Shield, Thunder Shield, Flame Mail, Ramuh or
Ifrit will help lessen the damage inflicted from Fire and Thunderstorm.
Using Barthundara and Barfira are also highly recommended.
The Great Nian Beast is a beast-type enemy. Using equipment with Beast Killer or Ifrit will increase damage.
The Great Nian Beast is susceptible to break attacks like Full Break and Undermine. Higher difficulties may resist it.
Roar can inflict Fire/Lightning resistance debuffs and paralysis. Make use of the Jeweled Ring or have Luka,Refia, or Ling in your party to cure off paralysis.
Once it uses Preparation, don't use magic or limit burst to prevent the boss from using A Tooth for a Tooth the next turn. You can use this turn to auto-attack to accumulate esper gauge.
Make sure to have an offensive item like Bomb Fragment or Void Vessel to clear one of the missions.
