Development
The game was released in Japan on January 29, 2009. The North American version was released on March 24, 2009, and the European version was released on March 27, 2009. The Australian version was released on April 2, 2009. DS Orignal with a Wii Port The game was revealed to the public at the 2008 Tokyo Game Show.
It uses a new engine created by Square Enix called the "Pollux Engine", which allows players to link up and adventure together in multiplayer mode regardless of which version of the game (Wii or Nintendo DS) they are playing.
The Wii version of the game contains a new trailer for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers.

Story
Nameless Protagonist - game starts with a bad dream (Larkeicus) and then moves onto the hero's 16th Birthday ritual which requires him to kill some monsters. After which he's awarded a personal crystal from Sherlotta. Suddenly a village girl becomes sick with "Crystal Sickness" and he must find a cure for the disease. This leads him to the library where Larkeicus agrees to find him a cure if he activates some statues on the top of some mountains. Which of course is an evil scheme by an evil man, which breaks the last remaining crystal and makes the Hero's village disappeared. So now our hero finds out that through some big magic thing that the Villagers are all raising the hero because they were made immortal when they touched the crystal core or something. So now we gotta pick up all the pieces to get the crystal back so that the village will return, and then we gotta defeated the bad guy, realizing that in order to truly defeat him, we gotta destroy the crystal, taking out the immortals with it, leaving only the memory of the immortal cat behind.
