Part 2 in my Solo Fighter walkthrough for Final Fantasy I NES.

I buy the Gloves and Wooden Shield (you'll see for the Warrior I prefer absorb over evade).
The pirates are relatively simple to beat as they only hit low damage, apart from crits of course. Learning what an enemy can hit with a crit is vital to a solo walkthrough, as you'll be evading the majority of hits and only multiple hits/crits will land. You'll want to stay above this threshold as much as possible.

I get to level 5 and head south east of Pravoka to fight the Ogres and other tougher enemies. The most annoying enemies will stun you, pretty much the bane of any solo wlakthrough. It can prove tedious to escape a stunner. After getting enough money for the Short Sword I buy it, and remember I need to talk to Bikke to get the boat.
The ocean battles are great for XP and money. Hard Reset after every 3-4 battles and you'll start the good battles all over again. I save up for the Iron Armour and reach level 6 (8-10 wouldn't be a bad idea to be at now). The rest of this part is pretty much battles at sea around Elfland and Corneria.

Towards the end I buy the Silver Sword, a great upgrade to the Short Sword and buy the Iron Shield and the helmet to accompany my armour. The part ends at the famous PNEoP (Peninsula North East of Pravoka), where I'll show a good place to gain some great early XP and Gold. I'll also advance the story somehwat too.
