As for Fossil Roo itself, I've linked below is a guide for the area to help those in need as it can get kind of confusing. There are several goodies along the way, with several Add-Ons that can be useful to your party. When you reach the mining excavation site, a secret Moogle is hidden behind the wall on the upper floor, right-hand side. Keep tapping X and you should eventually break the wall.
Once you reach the Outer Continent, before heading over to Condie Petie, make sure to head over to the marsh for Quina's frog catching mini game. Now would be a great time to complete is as you won't be returning to the continent for awhile and they should have plenty of time to respawn after capturing them.
With all that said and done, save outside the path connecting the mountainside.
