Previously, the party went to the sunken Tower of Walse, where they defeated the Famed Mimic Gogo and acquired the Mime job. Then, they explored the Great Sea Trench and acquired the Third Tablet. At Castle Kuza, they acquired their next batch of sealed weapons. They finished with a little ABP grinding in the basement of the Castle of Bal. Now, the party will go to Istory Falls in search of the last tablet.

Merged World - World Map:

The party resumes outside the Castle of Bal. They board the airship and fly north/northwest. They dive into the bay west of Karnak. At the northern end of the bay, they approach the cave.

Northwestern Cave (time 0:50):

The party disembarks the submarine. This is the same cave that the party took to the forest where they obtained the Catoblepas summon in Galuf's world. The enemies are the same. The party goes to the eastern end and exits.

World Map (time 1:41):

Now, the party finds themselves on a desert path leading northwest to Istory Falls. They follow the path and enter the waterfall.

Istory Falls (time 1:52):

The party starts on floor B1 of the falls. They step forward and battle the pair of Gargoyles guarding the gate. As usual, two casts of Level 3 Flare take them out. After the battle, the party approaches the door for a brief scene. The door is unlocked.

The enemy types available in Istory Falls are as follows: Mercury Bat, Coral, Aquagel, Steel Fist, Alchymia, and Tonberry. Corals and Aquagels are weak to lightning. Alchymia comes with a ??? frog that it will transform into another monster, given enough time.

The first major room is a multilevel hallway. Since water is running down, the party can slide down to a lower level at certain cliffs.

Bartz and Krile reach Level 41.

After climbing the first stairway, the party takes the western path. On the western side of the hall, chests contain an Ether and a Turtle Shell.

After climbing towards the upper door, the party turns east. They find a chest with an Air Knife.

The party takes the upper doorway to a hall with a split. Both paths eventually lead to the same place, but the eastern path is shorter for getting all the treasure. They take the eastern stairway down.

The party reaches floor B2. They arrive in the northeast.

Faris reaches Level 41.

To the south, the party climbs the eastern plateau and finds a chest with a Goliath Tonic.

In the southeast corner, a hidden passage leads east to a chest with a Rune Blade. The Rune Blade consumes MP to perform critical hits.

The party works their way to the western plateau. The chest at the northeastern end is blocked by a waterfall. There is a skull switch to the west that will turn off the waterfall just long enough for the party to dash east. The chest contains a Protect Ring.

The party takes the southwestern stairway to floor B3. They start in the northeast. When they reach the first intersection, the party takes the northeastern path to a chest that contains a Phoenix Down.

Then, the party goes southwest. At the next couple of intersections, they continue southwest to a chest that contains a Reflect Ring.

Then, the party works their way southeast to a stairway.

They reach a save room on floor B4. They use a Cottage and save at the save point.

The party continues southeast to a large hall, where they start in the northeast. The "Find Pits" ability is helpful here.

In the middle of the area, the party goes north up the stairs to a doorway. They enter a small room, where a chest contains an Artemis's Bow.

Back in the large hall, the party goes to the northwestern stairway. They follow it up to the southwestern ledge on floor B3. The chest here contains the Enhancer sword. Bartz equips it in place of the Defender.

The party backtracks to floor B4.

Lenna reaches Level 40.

In the southwest of floor B4, a chest contains 12,000 gil.

Tonberries can be encountered on floor B4. Final Fantasy V marks their first appearance in the series, in fact. As in other games, they are very dangerous.
