Previously, the party explored the Island Shrine along the Big Bridge. After defeating the Wendigo, they obtained the Second Tablet. They went to Castle Kuza and picked up three more sealed weapons. Then, they explored the Fork Tower and learned Holy and Flare, the ultimate White and Black Magic spells respectively. After Fork Tower disappeared, the party entered the Catapult, and Cid and Mid upgraded the airship with submarine functionality. Now, the party will revisit the sunken Tower of Walse to obtain the base game's last job. Then, they will explore the Great Sea Trench in search of the Third Tablet.

Merged World - World Map:

The party resumes outside Castle Kuza. They board the airship and go to the small eastern sea. Diving down in the submarine, they find the sunken Tower of Walse under the peninsula at the northern end of the sea.

Tower of Walse (time 0:46):

The party disembarks the submarine. They enter the Crystal Room at the top of the tower. The tower is flooded. The party can hold their breath for seven minutes. They must have really good lungs! There are random encounters here, but the random monsters do not show up in the Bestiary, so the party just runs from them all.

The party works their way down through the tower. On 4F, they climb the western column to 5F. The western chest on 5F contains an air refill. Yay!

When the party reaches floor 1F, Bartz equips the Excalibur and the Defender sword. Krile equips the job command !Mix.

The party goes south and examines the crystal shard that they could not retrieve on their first visit. Unfortunately, someone else has found this shard, and they do not want to let it go.

After the scene, it is boss time against the Famed Mimic Gogo. Gogo will mimic the actions that the party takes against him. The easy way to win this battle is to just sit there and do nothing. Eventually, Gogo will applaud the party for their mimicry, go away, and let them take the crystal shard. Unfortunately, this approach will not get the Famed Mimic Gogo's entry in the Bestiary.

So, the party will take this battle seriously. They use the mix Elixir + Dragon Fang = Goliath Tonic on each party member to double their max HP. Then, they use the mix Potion + Dragon Fang = Dragon Power on Bartz to raise his level until he is Level 99. Bartz also uses Spellblade Flare.

Afterwards, Faris whittles Gogo's HP down a little bit. With Golem up, Gogo's counterattacks are survivable. After Gogo has lost some 12,000 HP, Bartz goes all out with Rapid Fire. The party gets lucky and defeats Gogo without much trouble.

After the battle, the party obtains the last crystal shard. They acquire the Mime job. The Mime job allows a party member to equip three job commands. Like Freelancer, it inherits the passive stat upgrades of mastered jobs. This makes it great for mages. However, the equipment selection is limited, so it is not that good for physical attackers. Mimic also cannot equip Ribbons. Its main job command is Mimic, which freely repeats the last command that a party member has executed.

The player earns the achievement "Master Mimix" for obtaining the secret job class.

The party Teleports out of the dungeon.

World Map (time 8:25):

The party approaches the tower again to gain control aboard the submarine. Lenna changes her job to Mime. She equips "!White Magic Lv. 6", "!Summon Lv. 5", and !Mix. Krile also changes her job to Mime. She equips "!Black Magic Lv. 6", "!Time Magic Lv. 6", and !Mix.

The party surfaces and saves. Afterwards, they fly to the outer ocean northeast of Crescent and dive to the ocean floor.

Northeast of Crescent, the party finds a trench in the ocean floor. They enter this area.

Great Sea Trench (time 11:04):

The party departs the sub. They arrive on floor B1 of the Great Sea Trench.

To the south and east along the path, they find the door guarded by Gargoyles. Same as before, the pair of Gargoyles can be defeated with two casts of Level 3 Flare. After the Gargoyles are defeated, the door is unlocked.

The party goes through the door to floor B2. The enemy types in this dungeon are all named Unknown. They cover Bestiary entries #168 - #172. Unknown #168 and Unknown #171 look alike, but Unknown #168 is rarer. Fortunately, none of the monsters here are missable. They are all weak to Holy, so the Excalibur, the Holy Lance, and the Holy spell are all useful here.

Bartz reaches Level 40.

At the first intersection, the party turns south to find a chest with a Water Scroll.

Krile reaches Level 40.

The party takes the southeast stairway to floor B3, a save room. They rest with a Tent and continue on.
