This is another guy I was going to skip but decided to go back for. He's not an original creation but he's one of the few other creations that are a major roadblock for some players. He doesn't really have to be, though.

Here I demonstrate three techniques you can use to handle it. The main one, and my personal preference, is once again to lean on Auron's overpowered Masamune mechanic. Keep Shell on Tidus and Yuna, and Reflect on Yuna. When Yuna and Tidus are at full health, let Auron attack. You should be able to survive the Ultima counter, even with pretty measly Magic Defense. If you don't, use Focus x5 first. Let Auto-Phoenix get Auron back up, or if you don't have it, keep him with Auto-Life on before attacking.

The second approach is to have a mage reflecting Flare spells off of herself. This actually isn't strictly necessary and she can target the Nega Elemental directly as he won't counter spells, but sometimes it'll reflect itself and I find myself accidentally casting Flare still. Yuna needs Reflect up anyway to prevent being Osmose'd, so it just makes sense to me to use it.

The third and most reliable, but by far longest and most tiresome, approach is to let Tidus use Caladbolg's Magic Counter to kill it. You'll see this happen at 1:25. This method is completely safe but will make this battle take about as long as the Th'uban battle. If you're going to use this approach, keep Shell on Tidus and Reflect on all other party members.

No matter which method you choose, you should make sure to always Dispel Nega Elemental's own Reflect, as it won't cast any dangerous spells unless it can reflect them off of itself. Without that it will only cast Drain and Osmose, which you can easily mitigate with Reflect and Shell.

With all of that said, the actual best approach to this fight is Anima, assuming you have a decently leveled Yuna. But if you don't it should be possible to get one of these setups going for nearly any party without too much Sphere Grid work.
