I'm going to show you how to collect all of Wakka's unique prizes with the minimum required amount of Blitzball, in every sense of the word: the fewest number of games, minimal levels (no player of mine ever goes above single-digit levels in this run) and abilities (no learned Techs), and as little time spent actively playing in matches as necessary. Even so this will still take about 4 hours of real time, so unfortunately maxing Wakka's World Champion weapon is always a big commitment, no matter how skilled at the game you become.

For those who don't want to watch the whole video, I'll break the instructions down step-by-step:

1. Reset Data (optional, guarantees Attack Reels will reappear if you've missed it)
2. Enter and exit Blitzball menu until Tournament appears, prize will be Attack Reels
3. Save; reload and start Tournament until Aurochs are seeded 1st round and Al Bhed lose
4. Build team of Wedge, (Shaami or Tidus), Zev Ronso, Zalitz, (Shuu or Jassu), Jumal
5. Win Tournament and Attack Reels (2 games)
6. For Status Reels to appear, party must have had 250 combat encounters
7. Reset Data; League prize will be Status Reels
8. Reassemble team for 13 games
9. Win League; aim for 23+ points, a record of 7-2-1 or better (10 games)
10. For Aurochs Reels to appear, party must have had 450 combat encounters
11. Enter and exit menu until Tournament appears with Aurochs Reels as prize
12. Save and replay first round until Aurochs get seeded and Al Bhed lose
13. Win Tournament and Aurochs Reels (2 games)
14. Reset Data until Jupiter Sigil appears as League prize (50% chance)
15. Reassemble team for 10 games, win League and Jupiter Sigil (10 games)

For reference, here are some failure attempts I had when trying to make this video with two losses to the Al Bhed during League play, which is why I ultimately chose not to advise that route:
