Final Fantasy XI Online (or "FFXI") was originally released in Japan in 2002 and a year or so later in the US and Europe, on PS2 and PC. It was later released on Xbox360, but now only the PC version remains active and supported.
I have never played this game, or any MMORPG before. However, eighteen years since it was first released, I'm finally giving it a go. I don't know what to expect or if I will play beyond my free subscription, but here is my twelfth session with the game.
In this session, I finally learn how long everything takes to walk to when you can't afford teleportation; I defeat the Dark Dragon with my team of Trusts and earn San d'Oria's third rank; and after accepting the next mission, I try to find somewhere to fight and level up for a while. (Also, I forget where Davoi is.). This video has been edited to remove some of the tedious legwork.
This will be my last FULL recorded playthrough as they are very long, very repetitive and probably not very interesting to watch. As I move into my second week with the game, I will switch to edited highlights from now on.
